Webtools - Move widgets and services to the cloud (UPDATE II)

This update follows a previous communication: Webtools - Move widgets and services to the cloud (UPDATE).

New important clarification

This clarification concerns only owners of applications that are:

  1. hosted in the EC Datacenter,
  2. and make server-to-server calls to a Webtools API,
  3. and use any POST method listed in this Excel file.

Default settings in the EC Datacenter block direct requests to external URLs. With Webtools widgets and services moving out of the EC Datacenter to the cloud, any application based in the EC Datacenter will treat the new Webtools endpoints as hosted on an external network.

For that reason, do NOT change your POST endpoints to the new ones at webtools.europa.eu unless you have a proxy in place.

Webtools will keep their old POST endpoints up-and-running until Wednesday 15 May 2024. Please adapt your application(s) to use an EC proxy in the EC Datacenter and convey to us the estimated date of deployment. In order to allow you a smooth transition, please understand that this date should be no later than Wednesday 15 May 2024.
