Last month, the European Commission organised the first Once-Only Technical System Projectathon. Participants learned about the great value of Projectathons as an effective accelerator for the realisation of projects at national level to support the implementation the Once-Only Technical System.

On 19-21 April 2023, the first Once-Only Technical System Projectathon brought together 25 EU Member States in Brussels in a marathon of peer-to-peer interoperability testing. A Projectathon is a crucial step in the development, testing and deployment into production of the Once-Only Technical System components that underpin a national Once-Only implementation.

The Once-Only Technical System initiative is a great example of innovation at European level, with EU Member States working together to allow EU citizens and businesses take full advantage of the European Single Market. Vote for project 37 “Reducing red tape in cross-border administrative procedures”. Voting is open until 14 June 2023.

On 21-23 March 2023, the International Data Spaces Symposium brought together various data space initiatives, to learn from each other, share information about reusable components and technical specifications, ultimately co-creating the future of data spaces.

On 9 May 2023, this event marked “Europe Day” and included insightful presentations on topics surrounding the EU, specifically in the context of the 30^th anniversary of the Single Market.

On 17 March 2023, the Once-Only Technical System Specifications – Technical Design Documents sub-group to the Single Digital Gateway Coordination Group approved the working draft of the OOTS Technical Design Documents for release as the Q1 2023 release.

The much anticipated second Once-Only Technical System Projectathon will provide a valuable moment when national implementation teams will perform interoperability tests prior to the summer recess.

This online event will present the on-going work on the OOTS Common Services Admin App. It will also highlight key results and lessons learned from the June Projectathon and look at the road to the October edition.
