EU Budget Talks: “An update on the economic impact of NextGenerationEU and the EU budget”

With the Multiannual Financial Framework and NextGenerationEU now up and running, the new edition of the EU Budget Talks series will focus on the economic impact of NextGenerationEU on the EU and the euro area as well as the contribution of the EU budget to growth and resilience.

The discussion will be moderated by Bernhard Windisch (DG BUDG) and animated by:

  • Othman Bouadballah (ECB), who will present the paper “The economic impact of NextGenerationEU: a euro area perspective”.
  • Jan in’t Veld (DG ECFIN), who will present the paper “Quantifying spillovers from NextGenerationEU investment”
  • Lourdes Acedo Montoya (DG BUDG), who will discuss the impact of the MFF also in light of the results provided in the other two studies.

A Q&A will follow.
