Short-term outlook for EU agricultural markets – spring 2023

Dear Madam, dear Sir,

The Directorate-General of Agriculture and Rural Development has published the spring 2023 edition of the short-term EU agricultural outlook.

This report presents a detailed overview of the latest trends and prospects for major EU agricultural markets.

Presented prospects take into account the latest available information on availability and prices of inputs, such as feed, energy, fertilisers and consumer price developments, such as food inflation. However, uncertainties remain, especially on weather developments and evolution of Russia's invasion in Ukraine.

Sector specific highlights

An overview of the short-term prospects for the arable crops (including sugar), specialised crops (olive oil, wine, apples and oranges), milk and dairy and meat sectors as outlined in the report can be found here:
