The European Commission adopted on 29 April 2019 a second special measure on supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina in managing migration flows for an amount of EUR 13 million. This new EU action will build on the results of the previous support measures through which the EU has provided EUR 9.7 million to help the country cope with the influx of migrants it has experienced since 2018. This action will be implemented by IOM in cooperation with the UNHCR and UNICEF.
The European Union will host on Tuesday the annual Spring meeting of the international donor coordination group in support of the Palestinian economy, the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC).

On 30 April, the European Commission, the Palestinian Authority and the Islamic Development Bank will co-chair an information session in Brussels on the Gaza Central Desalination Plant & Associated Works Programme (‘the Programme’) for key donors and other partners.
The session will be an opportunity to inform participants on the state of play of the various components of the Programme and on progress achieved since the pledging conference held in Brussels on 20 March 2018.The Gaza Central Desalination Plant includes the construction of a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant and the installation of an on-site power plant fossil plant and a photovoltaic plant. “Associated Works” refers to the construction of a north-south water carrier for transport of desalinated water and a project to reduce water leakages.
The European Commission makes available €4.2 million under the External Investment Plan to help banks in Africa and the European Neighbourhood to better assist underfinanced sectors such as small businesses, including young entrepreneurs and women.
The third annual report on the implementation of the Facility shows solid results on EU support to refugees and host communities in Turkey, including: monthly transfer to 1.5 million refugees for their basic needs, 5 million primary health care consultations, access to school for 470,000 children.
