Czech Republic: 'Migration should not be reduced to a security issue'
How many migrants can Europe take in, how much responsibility should the Czech Republic accept, and is the country prepared to deal with the challenge of resettling hundreds of foreign migrants?
The head of leading Czech NGO the Centre for Integration, Vladislav Günter, was interviewed about some of the problems involved and on whether the country is adequately prepared for the 1,500 migrants it has agreed to take in. The discussion covers the security issue, the role of the media in the current anti-immigrant sentiment of the vast majority of the Czech public, as well as integration measures available and planned to deal with the situation.
