The High Commission for Migration is now accepting funding applications for initiatives promoting the multilevel integration of current and new third-country nationals. This funding opportunity is made available through the EU’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The total amount available is € 2,000,000.
The successful projects will focus on:
- Migrant populations, refugees or beneficiaries of international protection in Portugal, third-country nationals legally residing in a Member State or in the process of obtaining the right of legal residence in a Member State.
- Providing advice and assistance in areas such as accommodation, means of subsistence or administrative advice. Healthcare, psychological and social support, assistance to minors and family reunification are also eligible topics.
The projects can be implemented through:
- Local Support Centres for the Integration of Migrants (CLAIM). These centres provide information pertaining to a wide set of areas (regularisation, citizenship, family reunification, housing, voluntary return, work, health, education, among others), supporting migrants in the whole process of hosting and integration, working in articulation with other local structures.
- Actions that promote and/or support active integration measures, guaranteeing the integration of third-country nationals who are refugees or beneficiaries of international protection.
- Information or awareness sessions aimed at supporting third-country nationals in their integration into the host society, namely activities that fight racism and xenophobia, recognition of professional and academic skills, information to potential employers on legal pathways to recruit third-country nationals.
Requirements
Approved projects may benefit from a maximum co-financing rate of 75%. The duration of the projects should not exceed 36 months.
The deadline to submit applications is 19 June 2020. For all information about requirements and applications, please visit the website of the calls for proposals.
