Proposals under the European Commission's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) are welcome for projects improving the social orientation of third country nationals through the involvement of local communities.
Types of actions to be funded include:
- Activities supporting initial integration, including mentoring and volunteering activities
- Activities strengthening the sense of belonging and promoting active role in the community, as well as on a local, regional, national an/or EU levels
- Activities promoting meaningful interactions between migrants and the host society
- Trainings, workshops, mutual learning activities aiming at transferring and sharing know-how
The successful projects will cover a wide array of the day-to-day activities related to integration, including dealing with administrative issues, education, counselling, leisure, social networks and friendships, well-being and mental health. These activities need to be tailored to the specific needs of the different groups of beneficiaries, with special attention paid to vulnerable persons.
Projects therefore also need to employ a multi-stakeholder approach and involve various actors, including local authorities and communities, private stakeholders, education and health professionals, among others. Migrants already settled in the host community are also welcome to participate.
Successful projects can be large or small in terms of their budget and number of partners.
