This book provides an overview of migration in Portugal with data from various official bodies and organisations. The authors use these figures to answer fifteen questions commonly asked by citizens.
Graphics and maps present data on the proportion of foreign citizens living in Portugal, migration inflows and outflows and the important role of migration in balancing the fragile demographic situation of the country. Moreover, the report analyses the evolution of success rates among school children, the proportion of foreign students in higher education and the investment of migrants in learning Portuguese in the programme Portuguese for All.
