Migration Policy in Southern Europe: Challenges, Constraints and Prospects

The current economic crisis in Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal has brought significant challenges to the area in terms of migration policy. The article by Prof. Triandafyllidou, discusses three main issues: migration and the labour market, the management of irregular migration and changes in public opinion over migration in the face of rising xenophobia and racism abetted by economic difficulties and political volatility.
