Law 4368/2016, Article 33 on free access to health care services

The Greek Parliament has passed Law 4368/2016, which contains a new provision (Article 33) for the right of free access to the services of the Greek Public Health System by all refugees, asylum-seekers and beneficiaries of international protection, as well as those residing in Greece on humanitarian grounds or for exceptional health reasons. More broadly, the new law aims to ensure free access to health services by members of vulnerable groups in general, such as minors, pregnant women and individuals with disabilities. Details of implementation and further conditions are to be determined by the Ministries of Health; Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity; and Finance.
