Poland: Financial support to local services for foreigners to be increased
Province governors will receive additional funds from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA) to improve services provided to growing number of foreigners living across Poland. The nearly 42 million PLN (about 10 million euros) additional budget is funded by the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
Province governors' offices play a key role in the system of legalisation of stay and granting work permits to foreigners in Poland. Among activities to be subsidised are: a helpline for foreigners, training sessions for staff dealing with foreigners, appliances and systems to facilitate customer service, such as e.g. office machines, queue management systems, document scanners, interactive kiosks and application generators.
