Czech Republic: No applicants for the general provider of integration services tender (Unofficial translation)
In August 2016, the Czech government published an open tender for a 3 years contract worth 173.5 million crowns (6.43 million EUR) per year for the provision of migrant integration services. The deadline (15 December 2016) passed and no bidder has expressed interest in this 520-million-crown (19.26 million EUR) contract.
According to former general provider of integration services (appointed for the year 2016) Caritas Czech Republic, one of the main reasons is that the contract is not sufficiently funded. Given the situation, the Interior Ministry, which estimates the number of asylum seekers at 2000 per year for the next three years, now wants to secure the integration of foreigners internally through its Refugee Facilities Administration (SUZ). The Ministry stated that the SUZ has sufficient capacity and experience in the field to fulfil this role.
