Active Citizens Fund-Slovakia is now open
Active Citizens Fund-Slovakia is a new grant programme aiming to strengthen civil society, support active citizenship and empower vulnerable groups in Slovakia. Over the period 2018 – 2023, Active Citizens Fund will distribute nearly €8 million for projects in Slovakia through the Ekopolis Foundation, Carpathian Foundation and Open Society Foundation.
The main themes supported by the fund are civil participation, human rights, protection of public interests (good governance and transparency), vulnerable groups and improvement of their position in society and development of civil society. The fund will also support bilateral cooperation, such as exchange of experiences, know-how and good practices. Considering the target areas for the fund, grants might also help support the integration of migrants and refugees.
The Active Citizens Fund is sponsored by the governments of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. More information about the new fund will be presented at events on 8th November 2018 in Košice, 12th November in Banská Bystrica and 13th November 2018 in Bratislava. Find out more
