Newly arrived migrants and national minorities in Croatia (Unofficial translation)
Novopristigli migranti i nacionalne manjine u Hrvatskoj (Original language title)
The refugee crisis in 2015-16 has set the issues of migration and integration on the agenda in all European countries. For Croatia, a country of emigration, the integration of migrants is a new topic, as only very few refugees or migrants have chosen to stay in Croatia so far. Therefore, the national debate on the integration of migrants cannot solely build on previous experiences of immigration. In this paper, two renowned experts on national minorities rights explore the debate on integration and identity of newly arrived migrants on the background of Croatia's rich experience on national minority protection.
