Marsa - Snapshots from the Border Free Event Day
Start: 20/10/2018 at 09:00
End: 20/10/2018 at 13:00
Maltese NGO Kopin and Marsa Local Council are organising a day of fun activities as part of the Snapshots from the Border project. This is a 3-year project aiming to raise awareness of migrant issues through a bottom-up approach working at the local level and specifically targeting the European borders where migration flows are high. The project is being carried out in Malta in partnership with Marsa Local Council, a locality in Malta with a high migrant population as well as being host to a migrant open centre.
The event, which will be free of charge, will be good for families and will take place at the Marsa Primary School on 20 October 2018 between 9:00 and 13:00. There will be music, food stands and a pop-up exhibition with works from famous local photographer Darrin Zammit Lupi. There will also be an opportunity to meet Miss World Malta. For children, there will be face painting and fun games with the chance to win prizes.
Events like these aim to create a network between communities in order to address the challenges related to migration. They provide a great opportunity for local and migrant communities to mix and partake in fun activities together.
