Brussels – ORAMMA Project Final Event
The ORAMMA Project has developed an approach to healthcare for migrant and refugee women. On 28 February 2018, the project will host an event that allows attendees to hear about the work done, find out about the results of the feasibility study, and help the project think about its next steps.
ORAMMA, which stands for Operational Refugee and Migrant Maternal Approach, has been funded through the EU’s Health Programme to develop an operational and strategic approach for promoting safe motherhood, improving access and delivery of maternal healthcare for refugee and migrant women, and improving maternal health equality within the EU.
The project has developed and implemented training for health professionals on working with migrant women, including through e-learning. It also engaged in capacity building among migrant populations to increase their ability to access healthcare and advocate for themselves, as well as training migrant women to become maternity peer supporters. The overall approach was implemented as a pilot project in Greece, the Netherlands, and the UK.
The event is free to attend and open to all interested parties, but space is limited. Those interested in attending the event should register in advance.
