Brussels - Promoting Migrant Integration for a Powerful, Diverse and Multicultural Europe

Start: 14/09/2017 at 10:00

End: 14/09/2017 at 16:30

Description:

According to the 2016 Eurostat statistics, 20.7 million people with non-EU citizenship are currently residing in the European Union. These migrants actively contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of European societies. The key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for both the migrants and the European Union is their successful integration into host countries. Public Policy Exchange is organising a interactive seminar to enable stakeholders to understand and challenge the current migrant integration framework and explore solutions for the future.

From policies to terminologies, the seminar's programme is divided into 4 sessions - each followed by a discussion session:

  • Understanding the EU framework for migrant integration
  • Debunking myths and challenging the perception of migrants in Europe
  • Facilitating access to education and labour market in host Countries
  • Best practices of migrant integration at local level

Antoine Savary, Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission's DG HOME will be the key speaker.
