Description:

The 17th International Symposium of the Group Analytic Society International offers an opportunity to think about the changes to be made in Germany within the context of a international asylum crisis. Each morning of the Symposium will open with an early Social Dreaming Matrix followed by a Plenary Lecture. Wednesday 16 August will be dedicated to inclusion and exclusion with a lecture entitled We and The Other.

Keynote speakers:

  • Prof. Aleida Assmann, Professor of Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Konstanz
  • Prof. Vamik D. Volkan, Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia and an Emeritus Training and Supervising Analyst at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute
  • Prof. Elisabeth Rohr, Professor for Intercultural Education at the University of Marburg and a Group Analyst

The Symposium will be of interest to Psychotherapists, Psychoanalysts, Sociologists, Psychologists, Anthropologists, Social Workers, migration and healthcare researchers.
