End: 12/09/2018 at 16:00
The second international conference of the Romanian Network for Migration Studies, titled 'From source to destination: new challenges of migration in Central and Eastern Europe', will be hosted between 11-12 September 2018 by West University of Timișoara in Romania. Given the migration trends in Central and Eastern Europe, the conference aims to balance both emigration and immigration perspectives.
The topics to be explored during this edition of the conference include, among other subjects:
- immigrant integration
- migration and social change
- migration and development
- diasporas and remittances
- migration and transnationalism
- migration policies and practices
- return and circularity
- data sources and their uses in the study of migration
- migration and labour markets
- refugees in Central and Eastern Europe
The confirmed key note speakers are Professor Anne White from University College London and Professor Dumitru Sandu from University of Bucharest. As themes like the integration of immigrants, migration policies and practices and issues concerning refugees are of interest for a wide audience, the organisers welcome a mixed participation from academics, students and practitioners.
Attendance is free of charge. However, participants are requested to register prior to the conference.
