National presentation of MIPEX 2020: Migrant integration policies in Portugal
The Portugal results for MIPEX 2020, a study that compares and evaluates migrant integration policies in 52 countries across five continents, will be presented on 28 October 2020.
The study, coordinated by Migration Policy Group, evaluates indicators in eight areas of public policy:
- Labour market mobility
- Access to citizenship
- Family reunification
- Political participation
- Permanent residence
The programme for the event will be as follows:
14:30 Opening session: Luís Jerónimo, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Maria Lucinda Fonseca, Centre for Geographical Studies, IGOT, University Lisbon.
14:45 MIPEX V presentation: Thomas Huddleston, Migration Policy Group.
15:00 Panel of Commentators with moderation by Conceição Queiroz, TVI: Sónia Dias, School of Public Health, Paulo Fernandes, Mayor of Fundão and Shiv Kumar Singh, House-of-India Association.
The panel will be followed by a discussion and Q&A session.
15:45 Closing remarks: Carlos Moedas, Director of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, and Cláudia Pereira, Secretary of State for Integration and Migration.
