Dublin – Towards A Humane Asylum Process – MASI Conference 2019
MASI – Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland will host the first national conference led by asylum seekers on 5 October 2019. MASI is a grassroots organisation of people who are or have been in the asylum and direct provision system in Ireland, working and advocating for justice, freedom and dignity for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. Their focus is on the right to education and work for all people seeking asylum, the abolition of direct provision and an end to deportations.
In line with the grassroots nature of MASI, all speakers will be people who have been or are currently in the asylum and direct provision system. There will be a social event after the conference.
Tickets to the conference and the social event can be purchased on the event webpage. To support the conference and enable the participation of asylum seekers, MASI has started a crowdfunding campaign to cover catering and travel expenses for asylum seekers who will participate in the conference.
