Opportunities for blue and sustainable growth in the North Sea Region

Date:
Monday, 19 May, 2014 -
09:00 to 10:30
Venue:
SALON LONDON
Theme(s):

The North Sea region is one of the most prosperous parts of the EU. But while there are regional or maritime strategies for the Baltic Sea or the Atlantic Sea, a coherent development approach for the North Sea is still missing. The North Sea Commission´s strategy paper “North Sea Region 2020” already provides a framework for a coherent development of the North Sea and identifies strategic priorities. Against the background of the EP´s approval for a preparatory Action for the North Sea region it is time to discuss how to unlock the growth potential in the North Sea region as well as the added value of a coherent strategy for this sea basin.
