The European Commission Representation in Malta, in collaboration with the European Parliament Information Office, the Presidency Unit and other strategic partners, is organising a number of activities from the 7th until the 14th of May.
- Family afternoon at Villa Rundle, Gozo
Sunday 7 May, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Organised in clollaboration with the Europe Direct Information Office in Gozo and the European Parliament Information office in Malta (EPIO), this will be an afternoon of fun and cultural activities including music, dance, food tasting from different EU countries, games and quizzes for all the family. Malta Philarmonic Orchestra & International Spring Orchestra in Concert, Valletta
Tuesday 9 May, 7:30pm, Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. The two orchestras will be jointly performing for the first time in Malta Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The concert will be followed by a standing reception for distinguished guests and the general public. This event is carried out in collaboration with the Presidency Unit, the European Parliament Information Office in Malta, the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra, the International Spring Orchestra and the Malta Arts Council.
The Citizens's Orchestra's Ode to Joy
Sunday 14 May, Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta, 7:30pm. The audience's take on the Ode to Joy, one of the movements of Beethoven's 9th Symphony! The Citizens' Orchestra, a 500-strong ensemble made up of players of all ages and skill levels, will be directed by the world renown conductor Tim Steiner. Large screens will be set up outside the Theatre so as to enable a larger audience to participate in the event
