By realising EURATOM Treaty Article 35, JRC-Geel performs regular Proficiency Tests (PTs) of Member State capacity to measure radioactivity in the environment. On January 31, 2018 there will be a follow-up workshop on a PT on measuring radioactivity in maize.

The workshop will combine relevant keynote speakers with contributed papers and will run in parallel to the 25th Meeting on Public Economics, a 2-day general-purpose conference focused on Public Economics (in Spanish).

The 2018 edition of the Macro-Regional Innovation Week will take place in Ispra (IT) from 24 to 26 January 2018, with the focus on Science and Technology knowledge for policy support and on collaboration with the JRC.

The Macro-Regional Innovation Week will promote the opening of the JRC's research infrastructures and laboratories and showcase JRC's technical and scientific competences, in particular in the field of environment, energy, transport and biotechnologies.

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) in close collaboration with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology, US Department of Commerce) and Colorado State University is organising the 2nd International Workshop on Modelling of Physical, Economic and Social Systems for Resilience Assessment on 14-16 of December 2017.

The workshop aims to explore how high-level strategic needs and current scientific advances on modelling of physical, economic and social systems are linked in order to support resilience assessment in various dimensions.

  • their application to Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) macroeconomic models.
