Agnieszka Kinsner-Ovaskainen obtained her M.D. degree from the Medical University of Warsaw (Poland) in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences from the University of Konstanz (Germany) in 2005. She joined the European Commission as official in 2007.

Alban is an economic analyst at European Commission's Joint Research Centre. He provides policy support on international GHG mitigation policies and energy markets. He is a specialist of the global energy model POLES-JRC.

Portrait of Alberto Tumino

Alberto Tumino is an Economic Analyst member of the Fiscal Policy Analysis team at the JRC-Seville. His work focuses on the areas of microsimulation, public economics and labour economics. He is currently enrolled at the University of Essex (UK) as a part-time PhD student in economics.

Alessandro Annoni is Head of the Digital Earth and Reference Data Unit at JRC's Institute for Environment and Sustainability.


Alois Krasenbrink is Head of Sustainable Transport in the Energy, Transport & Climate Directorate.

Ana Cabrerizo is a postdoctoral researcher in the Air and Climate Unit of the European Commission's JRC-IES. Since February 2013, she has been working on the development and application of a new passive sampler to determine ambient air organic pollutants of special concern for improving European legislations.


Anamaria Maftei is an economic analyst working in the Fiscal Policy Analysis team at JRC-Seville. Her current work is focused on the development and use of microsimulation modelling tools to assess the impact of tax reforms.

Portrait of Andrea Conte

Andrea Conte is an Economist at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission where he is leading a team working on the "Stairway to Excellence" (S2E) Project.

He joined the European Commission in 2008 in the Directorate General for Economic & Financial Affairs (ECFIN), Brussels (Belgium), before moving to the Joint Research Centre, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (Seville, Spain).

Andrea Toreti is a senior scientist/scientific officer at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra.

He graduated in Mathematics at the University of Rome La Sapienza (Rome, Italy) and obtained a Ph.D. in Climate Sciences at the University of Bern (Bern, Switzerland). Before joining the JRC in 2013, he was at the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Italy), at the University of Bern (Switzerland) and at the University of Giessen (Germany) as Assistant Professor.

Andreas Schmitz works in energy and climate related activities in the JRC since 2008. He has a sound expertise in techno-economic assessment of energy intensive industries and power generating technologies. He currently contributes to development and maintenance of the global energy model POLES-JRC. Andreas holds a PhD in Electrical engineering (2005), a master in economics (2006) and a master in physics (1997).
