We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
As part of the Manchester European City of Science initiatives, the JRC together with Manchester Metropolitan University presents for the second time a unique communication initiative: a Science café, entitled "Global Science Local Impact".
On 2nd June, during the 7th Clean Energy Ministerial meeting in San Francisco, the collaboration arrangement focused on scientific cooperation on clean energy and energy efficiency was signed.
FiveVB is a consortium founded by the European Green Vehicle Initiative (EGVI) within Horizon 2020 program. The JRC plays an active role in the characterization of the newly developed 5 V battery technology. The batteries, manufactured by the consortium are characterized in the experimental facility of Battery Testing for Safe Electrification of Transport (BESTEST) in Petten by using cycling and post mortem analysis.
