We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
The EURL ECVAM Tracking System for Alternative methods towards Regulatory acceptance (TSAR) provides an overview of alternative (non-animal) methods that have been proposed for regulatory safety or efficacy testing of chemicals or biological agents such as vaccines.
It tracks the progress from submission of an alternative method for validation through to its final adoption by inclusion into the regulatory framework.
Where available, TSAR also includes relevant records and documents associated with a method linked to the different steps of the entire process: submission, validation, peer-review, recommendations and regulatory acceptance including international standards represented in the tracking system.
