We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
The DB-ALM is a service that provides information on development and applications of advanced and alternative methods to animal experimentation in the field of biomedical sciences and toxicology for research or regulatory purposes.
DB-ALM's rationale is to promote the acceptance and uptake of available alternative methods at all stages of development by providing standardised descriptions in an OECD accepted format.
DB-ALM includes reviews for five topic areas and individual protocols for 21 topic areas referring mainly to non-animal toxicity testing of chemical compounds.
