We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
To simulate impacts of climate change to agriculture and to evaluate adaptation strategies, the JRC uses its Bio-physical Model Applications Framework (BioMA). A suite of model components implemented in the modelling framework enable simulations of various crops in agricultural systems under present and future climate change scenarios. Modelling activities of the JRC are being integrated with other bio-physical and economic models in order to allow for an integrated approach to the evaluation of climate change scenarios. This work contributes to the JRC's Task Force on Integrated Modelling.
