ENCATC, the European network on cultural management and policy*, launches the call for applications for the 3rd ENCATC Research Award on Cultural Policy and Cultural Management (the JRC is a member of the Steering Committee of the Award).
 
This annual award is granted to a recently published PhD thesis exploring, through comparative and cross-cultural research, issues at stake and taking a step from evaluative (descriptive) to comparative applied research.

The JRC was invited for the fifth consecutive year, by the Cornell University, INSEAD business school and the World Intellectual Property Organization to conduct thorough conceptual and statistical coherence tests on the Global Innovation Index (GII) to ensure its reliability and transparency and to help deriving more accurate and meaningful policy recommendations.

ENCATC has launched the call for applications for the 2nd ENCATC Research Award on Cultural Policy and Cultural Management.

This annual award is granted to a recently published PhD thesis exploring, through comparative and cross-cultural research, issues at stake and taking a step from evaluative (descriptive) to comparative applied research. In addition, the ENCATC Award is rewarded to a PhD thesis that can inform policymaking and benefit practitioners active in the broad field of culture.

This report studies the occupational mismatch phenomenon, focusing on mismatching in both education and skill. Using PIAAC we calculate several indicators of overeducation and overskilling, investigating how the different measures are related to each other and the differing effects of the mismatch on several European countries. We find that mismatches in education and skill respectively measure two separate domains, and that the majority of the European population is either overeducated or overskilled, but not both.
