JRC research topics

The JRC carries out research in a wide variety of fields. Located across five sites throughout the EU, seven research institutes work in the areas of agriculture and food security, energy and transport, environment and climate change, health and consumer protection, information society, safety and security, innovation and growth, measurements and standards, and nuclear safety and security.

  1. EHRO-N was established in 2011, in the framework of the EURATOM treaty, to determine the situation of nuclear-educated Human Resources, skills and competences in Europe, assess the trends and suggest policy options for improvement.

  2. For nuclear knowledge management, training and education, the JRC has set up a number of projects (including CAPTURE) to help harmonise nuclear skills and contribute to nuclear education, training and knowledge management.
