We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
This Annual Report provides an overview of the JRC's main activities, accomplishments and resources in 2013. It highlights the scientific and technical support the JRC provides to several EU key priorities: the economic and monetary union; the single market, growth, jobs and innovation; a low-carbon economy and resource efficiency; agriculture and global food security; public health and (nuclear) safety and security. Special chapters are dedicated to standardisation, international cooperation and the JRC's new infrastructure and facilities.
