The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission together with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology, the USA Department of Commerce) and the Colorado State University is organizing the 2ndInternational Workshop on Modelling of Physical, Economic and Social Systems for Resilience Assessment on 14-16 December 2017, in Brussels.
This year the International GNSS Summer School will be hosted by the Norwegian Space Centre and held at Longyearbyen, Svalbard – Spitsbergen, Norway, on 4-15 September 2017.
The The summer school is held in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA), the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission and four internationally renewed universities: the Bundeswehr Universität München, ISAE Supaero, Stanford University and Technical University (TU) Graz.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Fisheries Department Regional Projects, the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) and the European Commission Joint Research Centre will run a Summer School in Quantitative Fisheries Stock Assessment from 10 – 22 July 2017, in the Institute for Marine and Coastal Environment (IAMC-CNR), Capo Granitola, Italy.

The JRC's Chemical Safety and Alternative Methods Unit, which incorporates the EU Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM), is organising a JRC Summer School from the 16-19 May 2017, at the JRC Ispra site, on the topic of "Alternative Approaches for Risk Assessment". The overall aim is to provide comprehensive training on state-of-the-art alternative (non-animal) approaches to predictive toxicology and to promote their use within modern chemical risk assessment practice.
