As the science and knowledge service of the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre's mission is to support EU policies with independent evidence throughout the whole policy cycle.
We are ageing physically and mentally. What does this imply for daily decision making?
The JRC-organised workshop "New policies for protection of ageing consumers" will take place from 1 to 3 October 2014 in Orasac, Croatia.
In order to deal with the challenges of ageing, particularly those due to cognitive ageing, policy-makers need a well-founded understanding of ageing and its determinants. The European Commission's in-house science service, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) organises a workshop dedicated to new policies for protection of ageing consumers. Cognitive and physical ageing effects and their implications in an increasingly ageing population will be discussed through scientific presentations and mutual learning. The workshop, run by the JRC's experts in behavioural economics and nutrition, will focus on promoting interaction between participants, who can be practitioners or scientists.
The event is addressed to researchers and policy-makers, in particular within the JRC Enlargement and Integration Action. Applications are not strictly limited to those countries, therefore interested and highly motivated persons are invited to send their participation application. For further information, eligibility criteria and selection process, as well as venue, please refer to the workshop homepage.
Application deadline: 21 May 2014.
