The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is formally launching the Danube Innovation Partnership during a workshop that will take place on 29 October 2013 in Bucharest, directly after the Second Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, jointly organised between the Government of Romania and the European Commission's Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy.
The need to improve the quality of the Research and Innovation ecosystems has been identified as one of the important policy goals to be pursued over the next few years in the Danube region and the Danube Innovation Partnership will be an integral part of the JRC's Scientific Support to the Danube Strategy initiative.
The main goal of the workshop is to bring together stakeholders in the innovation value chain of the Danube region into a partnership that will design and implement actions to accelerate innovation and technology transfer. Various actors of the Danube innovation ecosystem, such as policy makers, universities, research centres, technology transfer offices, industry, are invited to contribute to the discussion on how to support the development of technology transfer and commercialisation of research in the Danube area, as well as to the delivery of a road map of initiatives and actions to undertake.
