We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
On 4 November 2014, the Joint Research Centre hosted a roundtable discussion on how transformative technologies and disruptive innovations such as AeroMobil, "the flying car" can be used and brought into real life.
Photo highlights from the 2015 EFFEKTE Science Festival: from the 27th June as part of the 300th Birthday of the City of Karlsruhe, EFFEKTE 2015 transformed the palace (schloss) gardens of Karlsruhe into a huge science experience where visitors could enjoy live experiments, demonstrations, science shows and a varied stage program.
As the service responsible for scientific support to EU policies within the European Commission, the JRC is fully involved in the 6th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), held in Copenhagen on 21-26 June 2014. Here are some pictures taken at the event.
