Norma Rivero is the Information and Communication Agent of the Digital Economy Unit at the Joint Research Centre in Seville.
Originally from Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain), Norma was involved in multicultural environments from an early age. She coursed her highschool studies in Germany and at the Deutsche Schule Las Palmas. She then moved to the United States to obtain a Bachelor's Degree Cum Laude in Visual and Media Arts at Emerson College in Boston, MA, where she majored in film and did minors in video production and psychology. She also has a Master's Degree in European Audio-visual Management from the MEDIA Business School.
Norma has had an international professional career working for Spanish and Italian production companies in the TV, film and advertising industry as producer, videographer and editor. She has also worked for blue chip companies such as Estee Lauder and AOL Europe in the UK and Spain, and as Communications and Events Officer at the European Bank Association (EBA Group) in Germany before joining her current role at the European Commission in 2012.
Norma is also an artistic photographer. She has had over 10 exhibitions in Seville.
