We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
Michael Christl works as an Economic Analyst in the Fiscal Policy Analysis team at JRC-Seville. His current work focuses on the area of microsimulation, where he works on model maintenance and development in the area of taxation policy using the EUROMOD microsimulation model.
Before Joining the JRC in 2018, Michael worked for 5 years as a Labour Economist at Agenda Austria in Vienna. He has also conducted research in the areas of microsimulation and tax policy.
Michael holds a Master degree in Economics, as well as in Quantitative Finance of the Vienna University of Business. Currently he is doing his PhD at Vienna University of Business and Economics in the field of Empirical Economic Research.
His main research interests lie in the areas of labour economics and public finance.
