Kimon Keramidas

Kimon is an energy-economy analyst in the Directorate for Energy, Transport and Climate, and he is based in Seville.

He works in providing analysis to policymakers on energy-climate policies, and works on energy-economy modeling. Notably, he has extensive experience with the global energy model POLES and works in the Global Energy and Climate Outlook report series.

Kimon has 10 years’ experience in energy modelling and technology deployment strategies. He has a background as an engineer and has an MSc in energy economics. In his current position, and his previous work as a consultant and head of modelling, he was involved in several modelling and forecasting assignments, including: sectoral forecasting of energy demand for private utilities; carbon markets and GHG emissions reductions cost assessment for national institutions; assessment of technology deployment strategies; demand and supply scenario creation and calibration for international R&D programmes or private oil & gas companies.
