We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
Enrico Pisoni graduated in Environmental Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milano in 2002, with a dissertation on water resources management. He obtained a Ph.D. in Information Engineering from the University of Brescia in 2007, working on air quality management.
His research interests include modelling and simulation of nonlinear systems, system identification and optimisation techniques. He is mainly concerned with air quality applications, considering monitoring, forecasting and planning.
After some years at university, working in several European, national and regional research projects (i.e. on the “Regional Integrated Assessment Tool” project, the OPERA LIFE+ “Operational Procedure for Emission Reduction Assessment” project, the APPRAISAL FP7 “Integrated Assessment Modelling for regional and local air quality policy“ project) he joined the European Commission - Joint Research Centre in September 2013.
Currently, his role in the Joint Research Centre is to coordinate and to carry out scientific and technical activities in the “Integrated Assessment Modelling” field, in the Air and Climate Unit.
He is author or co-author of more than 30 scientific papers in International Journals, and of several conference proceedings.
