The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
Daniel Nepelski serves as Scientific Officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. Working at the melting pot of policy making and academia, he provides science-based support to policy-making process in the field of technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship at European level. His main interests include commercialization of technology, the working of the European innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and the position of Europe in the global context of technology-based value generation. Before joining the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of the JRC, he worked at the German Institute for Economic Research in Berlin (DIW Berlin). He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Humboldt University Berlin.
