The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
This workshop is organised by the Agriculture Unit of JRC-IPSC , in collaboration with the GEO Global Agricultural Monitoring and in the framework of the support of JRC to the Food Security Information Systems in the Horn of Africa.
JRC IPTS, as scientific partner, and Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville) jointly organise the 107th Seminar of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) on "Modelling of Agricultural and Rural Development Policies" gathering more then 200 participants in Seville.
The IPC Food Security Working Group will work with the IPC Nutrition Working Group (IPC NWG) to capture cross-cutting lessons learned to prepare and develop a consolidated, articulated, and harmonized Integrated Food and Nutrition Security Phase Classification System that consists of the three IPC Classification scales (IPC Acute Food Insecurity, IPC Acute Malnutrition, and IPC Chronic Food Insecurity).
The 2007 MARS PAC annual conference - the thirteenth - will be held in collaboration with the Spanish Paying Agency FEGA, from 12 to 14 November at the Palacio de Congresos, Madrid.
The 2008 MARS conference - the fourteenth of the series organised by the JRC Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen (IPSC) - has been opened today by Milan Poga nik, Slovenian Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Food.
The 2010 Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) Workshop, co-hosted by the Danish Food Industry Agency, will be held in Copenhagen from 20th September until 22nd September 2010.

The 2016 MARS Conference will provide a platform to present Member State experiences and other observations regardubg the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS), including developments in shared management.
During the Conference, challenges and opportunities for image use, aspects of performance and the future outlook of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) will also be discussed.
The Conference will take place in Lisbon on 24 and 25 November, from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in Rome will host the second international conference on the collection and interpretation of traditional and non-traditional fishery dependent data.
Comprehensive and reliable fisheries data and information is needed to provide sound scientific advice, feeding into fisheries management and policy frameworks in order to ensure sustainability in the fisheries sector and future profitable exploitation of fish stocks.
