Policy puzzles are topics for which economists have a clear policy prescription but where actual policies do not follow it.

In this workshop participants explored the reasons for this, whether economic prescriptions were wrong or there were peculiarities in the political decision mechanism to look at.

Wouter van der Wielen, from the JRC Fiscal Policy Analysis team, presented the set-up of the ongoing project "The impact of unemployment evolutions and uncertainty in fiscal forecasting".

The symposium is jointly organised by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission and Kanazawa University. It will be held from 30 May to 1st June 2017 in Kanazawa, Japan.

The event will offer a forum for presentations on the latest developments in radiotherapy with alpha emitters in cancer treatment and provide the opportunity for scientific exchange and networking. Potential topics for presentations and discussions include clinical experience of treatment with alpha emitters, preclinical research, radionuclide production, instrumentation and dosimetry.
