The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
This workshop is organised by the Agriculture Unit of JRC-IPSC , in collaboration with the GEO Global Agricultural Monitoring and in the framework of the support of JRC to the Food Security Information Systems in the Horn of Africa.
The 36th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE), organised by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in partnership with the International Center for Remote Sensing of Environment (Tucson, Arizona), will take place on May 11-15, 2015 in Berlin, Germany. The overall theme of the symposium is the use of Earth Observation systems and related Remote Sensing techniques for understanding and managing the Earth‘s environment and resources.

The Arctic Biodiversity Congress, organised by the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) working group of the Arctic Council and the Norwegian Environment Agency (Miljødirektoratet), aims to promote the conservation and sustainable use of Arctic biodiversity through dialogue among scientists, policy-makers, government officials, industry, civil society and indigenous peoples.
As part of this year's Arctic Science Summit Week (12-18 March 2016), IES scientist Julian Wilson will participate in the Arctic Council Workshop on Resilience as a nominated member of the workshop steering committee.

The Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia is hosting the 4th Bridging the Gap Conference: Responding to Environmental Change – from Words to Deeds, which will take place in Slovenia in Portoro~ from 14 – 16 May, 2008.
European and American policymakers, researchers and industry representatives on Monday 21 November discussed closer scientific co-operation in support of clean energy and sustainable mobility. The high level Brussels-held seminar was jointly organised by the JRC and the US Mission to the European Union. Titled ‘Building a Transatlantic Scientific Bridge’, it was timely scheduled ahead of next week’s two key events: the US-EU summit and the Transatlantic Economic Council in Washington, which will feature science and electro-mobility high on the co-operation agenda.
