Intelligence and Security Informatics (ISI) is a multidisciplinary science encompassing methodologies, models, algorithms and advanced tools for intelligence analysis, homeland security, terrorism research as well as security-related public policies. EuroISI 2008 is the first European edition of the series of ISI symposiums being held annually in the US since 2003 and more recently in Asia.

Following seizures of radioactive materials in countries of the Caucasus region in recent years and in order to better prepare responses to such incidents, the European Commission, the US Department of State and Moscow's International Science and Technology Centre have joined forces – along with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia – to organise a dedicated workshop on International cooperation in nuclear forensics and law enforcement.

The three-day European Ministerial e-Inclusion Conference, held this year in the Reed Messe Congress Centre in Vienna, closes today, 2 December. The conference is Europe's biggest event for e-Inclusion, which means using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to combat social exclusion. It is jointly organised by the European Commission and the Austrian Government, in cooperation with the current French Presidency of the European Union.
