The 36th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE), organised by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in partnership with the International Center for Remote Sensing of Environment (Tucson, Arizona), will take place on May 11-15, 2015 in Berlin, Germany. The overall theme of the symposium is the use of Earth Observation systems and related Remote Sensing techniques for understanding and managing the Earth‘s environment and resources.

The JRC is launching the Global Human Settlement Workshop Series as a biannual workshop to promote a global observatory of human settlements. This three day event will bring together institutions that are already contributing to the Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) initiative, analysts that are using the settlement information in their models, or are interested to add it in their toolbox, scientists working on global settlement analysis and remote sensing and institutional stakeholders supporting programmes related to global or regional human settlement information.
The objective of the workshop is to highlight the importance of the emissions distribution on the grid maps and to encourage interactions between all involved.
The JRC's Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen is hosting on 13 and 14 November in Ispra (Italy) the 33rd Seminar of the European Safety, Reliability and Data Association (ESReDA) on "Future challenges of accident investigation". The Seminar will be preceded, on November 12, by the meeting of the Association Board of Directors.
The Group on Earth Observation (GEO) will hold its eighth Plenary meeting and an exhibition in Istanbul from 15 to 17 November 2011. An intergovernmental organisation bringing together 87 countries and the European Commission, as well as 61 international organisations, GEO coordinates efforts to build a Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) on the basis of a 10-Year Implementation Plan.
