    The European Commission Initiative on Breast Cancer (ECIBC) is built upon the principles of sustainability, continuity and the transparent inclusion of experts and stakeholders to develop a project that will have an impact on breast cancer care in Europe. The ECIBC is under the coordination of the Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), based on an agreement with the Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety. It aims to ensure and harmonise the quality of breast cancer services across European countries.

    The programme focused on recent advances in nanobiosciences promising a decisive impact on the formulation of new medicinal products.

    The EU Expo Taskforce of the JRC has organised an international conference to close the scientific programme of activities at Expo Milano 2015.

    Taking place just one day before World Food Day, it will offer a platform where international actors from politics, the scientific community, industry, and civil society can discuss the recommendations for a "European Research and Innovation Agenda for Global Food and Nutrition Security" that have been produced by the EU scientific steering committee for Expo 2015.

    The Ministry of Health in Luxembourg is organising a Food Contact Materials conference on the 30th September in Luxembourg-City as part of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The conference is bringing together different representatives working in the food contact materials area such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Member States experts and representatives from the industry. The main focus lies on safety and innovation.
