    JRC scientists give a seminar on "Using Counterfactual Impact Evaluations (CIEs) for the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI)" as part of the ESF Evaluation Parnership Meeting.

    The purpose of the seminar is to discuss YEI interventions amenable to CIE as well as the data collection arrangements needed to make CIE a reality during this programming period. Part of the talk is also devoted to presenting examples of evaluations dealing with related youth employment policies.

    JRC scientists present the results of a Counterfactual Impact Evaluation of an ESF-funded intervention in Latvia.

    These results were discussed in front of the Managing Authority in charge of the evaluation of the intervention and in front of representatives of other Ministries in Latvia. CRIE provided insights for future similar programs to be introduced in Latvia.

    The purpose of the meeting is to discuss about synergies and potential collaborations between CRIE and the WB to promote Counterfactualual Impact Evaluations of EU-funded interventions.

    In the context of the Mutual Learning Programme under the European Employment Strategy, JRC Centre for Research on Impact Evaluation participates at the event "Peer Review on Counterfactual Impact Evaluation (CIE)" in Prague.
    The event aims to explore the use of CIE methods for the evaluation of active labour market policies. To this end, the Peer Review examines the CIE of some interventions under ESF Human Resources and Employment Operation Programme (HREOP) in the Czech Republic.

    The event is hosted by the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

    At the request of ESF Managing Authorities in Latvia, JRC Centre for Research on Impact Evaluation holds a 2-day training workshop on 4-5th June 2014 in Riga.

    The workshop provides the audience with the fundamentals of counterfactual analysis and a number of examples to illustrate the theory.

    The objective of the training is to give an introduction to impact evaluation methods that MAs can use for the evaluation of ESF-funded interventions, and to emphasise the feasibility of CIEs. JRC underlined its availability for methodological guidance throughout the process.

    The JRC Centre for Research On Impact Evaluation team is invited to give a two-day training workshop on counterfactual impact evaluation methods (CIEs) by the Slovakian Managing Authorities (MAs) in Bratislava on 22nd-23rd May, 2014.

     

    The objective of the training is to give an introduction to impact evaluation methods that MAs can use for the evaluation of ESF-funded interventions, and to emphasise the feasibility of CIEs. JRC underlined its availability for methodological guidance throughout the process.
