This workshop aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the presentation and discussion of fundamental aspects of nanobioscience.

  2. 13 Nov 2014
    14 Nov 2014

On 13th and 14th November 2014, in Ispra, the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (JRC-IHCP), held a two-day long workshop dedicated to cyclotron accelerator research and nanoparticle labelling.

  3. 26 Jun 2013

This will be the tenth of a series of well-established workshops on experimental, theoretical, simulation, and applied aspects of the thermophysical behaviour of matter in the millisecond to picosecond time regimes. It will include, among others, rapid resistive or inductive heating (volume), pulsed laser heating (surface), and levitation techniques. Presentations regarding new experimental techniques in the area of subsecond thermophysics are always welcome. The emphasis will be on measurements of thermophysical properties at high temperatures.

  4. 28 Nov 2012
    30 Nov 2012

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre is organising together with the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal a series of events in Lisbon and Porto between 28 and 30 November 2012.

  5. 18 Oct 2011

The JRC and the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC) signed a Letter of Intent to strengthen co-operation between the two organisations, on 18 October 2011 at 17:00 in Brussels in the Royal Academies for Science and the Arts of Belgium.

    17 Jun 2011

Research in nanomaterials is expected to provide critical contributions to the advancement in electrochemical energy technologies and to address the important issue of sustainability. Progress in these cross-disciplinary areas can be best achieved through coordinated and cooperative actions. This event provided a unique opportunity for those involved in research (including funding and policy) in Europe and India to identify synergies and mutual needs to push forward progress and provide benefits for both regions.

  7. 16 Jun 2011

The Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and together with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre are organising an information exchange event focused on three main topics: nanotechnology, the EU strategy for the Danube region (covering transport, energy, environment, security and socio-economic issues), the development of a low carbon society (including nuclear energy).

  8. 2 Jun 2010

The JRC, together with the European Union Satellite Centre (Torrejón), hosted an Information Exchange Day with Spanish stakeholders in Madrid on 2 June. More than 100 high-level participants from government, research and industry gained insight into the JRC's new ten-year strategy and work done by the JRC Institutes for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS), Health and Consumer Protection (IHCP) and Protection and Security of the Citizen (IPSC).

  9. 15 Dec 2009
    16 Dec 2009

An enlargement & integration workshop on cyclotron research and radio-labelled nanoparticles, as part of the yearly cyclotron networking workshops (with participation of approximately 15-20 relevant research institutions), is scheduled for 15-16 December 2009 at the JRC Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (IHCP) in Ispra, Italy.
